Overview

An Ardmay Woodland Discovery Day gives you the opportunity to experience fun and adventure that you will never forget in the heart of the Argyll Forest Park.

Tailored especially for primary school-aged children, our Woodland Discovery Days offer the chance to learn and explore in a safe and unique environment.

Spend the day discovering the forest with activities ranging from den building to beach art – less than one hour from Glasgow.

Location

Ardmay Woodland Discovery Days take place in the Ardgarten area of the Argyll Forest Park, in the heart of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.

Less than a one-hour drive from Glasgow city-centre it is easily accessible to the central-belt.

Ages

Our Woodland Discovery Days suit primary school pupils aged from 5 – 12 years old. We tailor each day to suit your group, so that children of all ages can get the most out of their day in the woods.

Activities

Here are some examples of the exciting activities you will experience on an Ardmay Woodland Discovery Day:
Nature walks, den building, camouflage challenge, scavenger hunt, orienteering, woodland workout, beach and forest art, woodland team building games.

Prices and Booking

£25 per pupil including a packed lunch (filled roll, crisps, biscuits, fruit and juice). Parents please be aware that there may be an additional charge for coach hire.

What to Bring

Wellies, waterproof jacket, warm, comfortable clothes. Please do not wear jeans.

We also recommend you bring a change of clothes.

Ardmay Woodland Discovery Days offer the perfect opportunity for children to make the most of the outdoors and learn outside the classroom.

We tailor each Discovery Day to suit the individual requirements of your group to ensure that your group gets the most out of their day in the woods.

Staff and Safety

All our instructional staff are highly qualified with NGB qualifications and operate to the high standards expected by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority and have been enhanced disclosure checked by Disclosure Scotland.

We operate on a high staff to child ratio and ensure that pupils are looked after at all times throughout their visit.

FAQ’s

What time do we arrive/leave?
We recommend that groups aim to arrive by 10.30am and leave at 3.30pm.

What if it rains?
Please make sure children have a waterproof jacket and wellies in case of bad weather. Our experienced staff ensure that children have a great day out come rain or shine!

Are there toilet facilities?
Yes, there are toilet facilities in the forest park.

What is for lunch?
All children receive a packed lunch including a filled roll, crisps, a piece of fruit, biscuits and juice.

What does my child need to wear?
